Dr. Sebastián Aparicio, New Director of the UAB Business Department

On December 18, 2025, the Business Department Council at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) elected Dr. Sebastián Aparicio as the new Director of the department. Aparicio, an Associate Professor in the Serra Húnter programme, will lead the department for the upcoming six-year term after securing the required majority in the Council session vote.

Dr. Aparicio joins other CREIS members who already hold management positions at UAB: Anna Fajula (Vice Dean of Faculty, Quality, and Teaching Innovation at the Faculty of Communication Sciences), José López Vicario (Associate Director of Strategic Projects at the School of Engineering), Maria Noguera (Director of the School of Tourism and Hospitality Management), Hector Sala (Secretary of the Department of Applied Economics), Àlex Rialp (Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business), Consol Torreguitart (Vice Dean of Teaching and Academic Affairs at the Faculty of Economics and Business), Hugo Valenzuela (Director of the Department of Social and Cultural Anthropology), Stefan Van Hemmen (Vice Dean of Students, Entrepreneurship, and Employability at the Faculty of Economics and Business), and Ramon Vilanova (Vice Rector for Academic Programs and Quality).
