Eines Awards 2025

The fifth edition of the Eines Awards was held on October 21, 2025, at the Ateneu de Cerdanyola del Vallès. These awards, which have become a benchmark for promoting purpose-driven entrepreneurship and social innovation in Catalonia, were organized by the Cerdanyola del Vallès City Council and the Center for Studies and Research in Entrepreneurship and Social Innovation (CREIS-UAB), in collaboration with the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), the city councils of Mollet del Vallès and Montornès del Vallès, the Barcelona Provincial Council, and the Regional Councils of Vallès Occidental and Vallès Oriental.

This edition recognized projects in six territorial categories:

  • Índigo (Municipality of Cerdanyola): An accessible technological tool that enables the customization of educational materials for students with special needs.
  • Refugi (Municipality of Mollet): An initiative promoting therapeutic spaces for young people with mental health challenges through artistic interventions in nature.
  • Teixim Vincles (Municipality of Montornès): A project developing a comprehensive sexual education strategy in schools, including teacher training and educational continuity.
  • La Crida Edison (Vallès Oriental region): Revitalization of local cinema as a space for training, cultural participation, and youth empowerment in audiovisual media.
  • BoscEscola (Vallès Occidental region): Transformation of early childhood education through outdoor classrooms in natural settings, fostering experiential learning.
  • Etika Bikes (Catalonia-wide): Promotion of local, sustainable production of bamboo bicycles, linking urban mobility, innovation, and responsible tourism.

The gala was attended by over 150 people and included the institutional presentation of the Chair of Entrepreneurship and Social Innovation, the official launch of the Master's Degree in Entrepreneurship and Social Innovation (MEINS) for the 2025-26 academic year, the lecture "Agricultural Cooperativism in Catalonia: An Example of Commitment to Territory and People," by Josep Ll. Bosque from the Federation of Agricultural Cooperatives of Catalonia, and the presentation of the 2025 Yearbook of Entrepreneurship, Economy and Social Innovation by Professor Santiago Giraldo from UAB.

The ceremony featured the participation of Javier Lafuente, rector of UAB; Carlos Cordón, mayor of Cerdanyola del Vallès; Mireia Dionisio, mayor of Mollet del Vallès; José A. Montero, mayor of Montornès del Vallès; Emilio Cordero, president of the Vallès Oriental Regional Council; Manuel Robles, Minister of Education and Sports of the Generalitat de Catalunya; Anna M. Martínez, representative of the Barcelona Provincial Council; and Raúl Moreno, Secretary General of Social Rights and Inclusion of the Generalitat de Catalunya, who presented the awards and highlighted the importance of institutional collaboration in driving social innovation throughout the region.

These awards recognize the contributions of all participants and finalists who demonstrate the transformative power of social innovation and the territories' commitment to a more sustainable future.
